Supra Torus – New generation Faraday Screen

SEIV has built a new-generation Faraday screen for the ITER project.

The Faraday screen is the front face of the Ion Cyclotron Frequency antenna incorporated into the reactor torus. It is made from stainless steel and is covered with boron carbide to protect the antenna from being bombarded by particles from the plasma and to avoid the plasma being contaminated by metallic impurities. The screen is cooled using a high-pressure water circuit (35 bars) at 220°C (max).
